Interests

Kayaking

From age six onwards, I spent most of my holidays kayaking (extreme) white-water rivers all around the around the globe with friends.

Climbing

During the week, I climb in Eindhoven's indoor climbing hall, Neoliet. For the last couple of years, my climbing skills seem to level off around grade 6b/6c. I hardly climb outside, whenever I see mountains, there is also a white-water river nearby...

Canyoning

I love canyoning (i.e. walking, swimming, and jumping/rappelling down waterfalls in a deep river canyon) if I get the chance. I have explored beautiful canyons in the French Alps, Spain, Turkey, and South-India.

Music

I like to play electrical guitar, although currently I do not play much. I played in several amateur bands, ranging from rock to gospel to funk-rock music. My favorite style is funk-rock; anything with a good groove goes.

Salsa dancing

I used to dance salsa with Derya at dance school Rosita Sola. Sometimes, we also dance in Eindhoven's cafe 'Santiago de Cuba', but only if Derya manages to drag me there ;-). We stopped dancing at the dance school because we couldn't stand the owner, teaching salsa like a military drill instructor...
